Step 1. Get your Payfast Merchant ID and Payfast Merchant Key from your Payfast Dashboard

Here are the next steps:

1. Create your Payfast account
2. Log into your Payfast account
3. Get your Payfast Merchant ID, your Payfast Merchant Key and your Payfast Passphrase from your account. Here is how to find the passphrase in your Payfast account: https://support.payfast.help/portal/en/kb/articles/how-do-i-enable-a-passphrase-on-my-payfast-account-20-9-2022

Note: Your Payfast Merchant ID and Payfast Merchant Key become available in your Payfast account as soon as your account is verified by Payfast.

Step 2. Configure Payfast on your website

1. Once you've got your information from your Payfast account:
2. Log into your website editor at https://builder.portmoni.com 
3. Go to the ‘Edit your site’ page
4. Navigate down to the ‘Products + online store options’ section
5. Click on “Edit / add payment options”

1. Click on “Add payment option”
   

1. Select “Visa, Mastercard, and EFT with Payfast”
   

1. In the section “Payment option credentials”, enter your Payfast Merchant ID, your Payfast Merchant Key and your Payfast passphrase that you got from the Payfast account before
   

1. In the section “Payment option test credentials”, enter your Payfast Test Merchant ID, your Payfast Test Merchant Key, and your Payfast Test passphrase. You can find these values in your Sandbox at https://sandbox.payfast.co.za , or use the following values provided by Payfast that are valid for any account (available in the Payfast Developer Documentation):
   

• Test Merchant ID: 10000100
• Test Merchant Key: 46f0cd694581a
• Test Passphrase: jt7NOE43FZPn

1. Once this information is entered, click on ‘Save’
2. You now accept payments via Payfast. The option will be automatically offered to your customers when they checkout on your site.
