Sign up with Payfast

If you would like to receive payments online, you can sign up for a Payfast merchant account which is free to do and can be done completely online.  You can register as a Sole Trader (sole-proprietor), Company (Close corporation, Pty (Ltd), Trust) or a Non-Profit (a registered charity or NPO).

Before you sign up,  double-check that your business category is eligible for a Payfast account by reviewing our Goods and Services Prohibited for processing through Payfast . Unfortunately, some regulating bodies prohibit us from processing online payments for specific industries.

During registration, you will need to verify your email address by clicking the link sent to the email address you provided on registration. Payfast will also use this email to contact you with any information regarding your account, so make sure it’s an email address you use regularly.
