Once a subscription is set up on your PayFast account, it will automatically charge your customer according to the frequency and cycles of the subscription.
You may manage your subscriptions through your dashboard by editing, canceling or pausing the subscription.
Editing a subscription:
As a merchant, you can edit the following details of your customer’s subscription:
The amount for the subscription
The frequency of the subscription
The number of cycles for the subscription
The next payment date of the subscription
To edit a subscription, do the following:
Log in to your PayFast account.
Navigate to Transactions > Customer Subscriptions.
Under Subscriptions, retrieve the subscription that you would like to edit.
Under the Actions column, click “...” and select subscription.
Edit what you would like to change on that subscription.
Tick the box that you acknowledge that any changes may trigger emails to the subscriber.
Click Save.
Pausing a subscription:
As a merchant, you have the ability to pause a subscription from your PayFast Dashboard at any given time.
To pause a subscription, do the following:
Log in to your PayFast account.
Navigate to Transactions > Customer Subscriptions.
Under Subscriptions, retrieve the subscription that you would like to pause.
Under the Actions column, click “...” and select Pause subscription.
From the drop-down list select how long the subscription should be paused for.
Click Pause.
Check the box that you acknowledge that any changes may trigger emails to the subscriber.
Please note: Your customer will be notified via email that the subscription has been paused.
Cancelling a subscription:
As a merchant, you have the ability to cancel a subscription from your PayFast Dashboard at any given time.
To cancel a subscription, do the following:
Log in to your PayFast account.
Navigate to Transactions > Customer Subscriptions.
Under Subscriptions history, retrieve the subscription that you would like to cancel.
Under the Action column click “…” and select Cancel subscription.
Click Cancel.
