How to Use the Search Function on MAP

The Search feature in MAP allows you to find specific transactions or lists of transactions using various search criteria. It’s designed to help you quickly address customer queries by providing detailed information on transactions processed through Payfast by Network. The search tool also allows you to search across different terminals if you have multiple ones linked to your account, and a printer-friendly version of the results is available.


Steps to Access and Use the Search Function:

  1. Login to MAP:
    • Begin by logging into the Merchant Access Portal (MAP).
  2. Navigate to the Search Section:
    • Click on Reporting in the side navigation menu.
    • Under the Reporting section, select Search. This will navigate you to the search landing page.
  3. Search Criteria Options: On the search page, you can filter your transactions by using the following options:
    • Payment Method: Select the payment methods enabled for your merchant account.
    • Transaction Types: Choose from a variety of transaction types such as:
      1. Authorisations
      2. Authorisations with 3D Secure
      3. Authorisations without 3D Secure
      4. Settlements
      5. Refunds
    1.    Transaction Status: Filter by transaction status:
      1. All statuses
      2. Not done
      3. Approved
      4. Declined
    1. Date and Time Range:
      1. Select the Start Date and End Date along with specific time if needed.
    2. Optional Fields: By clicking on the More button, you’ll have access to additional search criteria including:
      1. Card Number
      2. Card/Account Holder
      3. Amount
      4. Authorisation Code
      5. Bank Batch
      6. Reference: Choose between equals or partial match.
  1. Output Options: After selecting your criteria, you can choose how you'd like to receive the search results:
    • Output Data to CSV File: This will allow you to download the results in CSV format.
    • Notify Me: You can receive an email notification once the search results are available.
  2. Execute the Search:
    • Once you’ve entered the necessary criteria, click Submit to perform the search.
  3. Viewing Results:
    • After submitting the search, you’ll be taken to the results page, which will display a table of transactions matching your search criteria.
    • To view full transaction details, click on the View link in the Detail column. This will open a pop-up window with the complete transaction information.
  4. Printer-Friendly Version:
    • A Print-Friendly button is available on the results page, allowing you to print or generate a PDF of the table for your records.
