How do I restrict my login to a hostname/IP address or country?

For added security, it is possible to restrict access to your account by hostname/IP address and country.

New PayFast Dashboard 

To add these extra security measures, do the following:
  1. Log in to your PayFast account.
  2. Navigate to Account > Security
  3. Scroll down to Permissions
  4. Under Allowed Hostnames enter the IP address or hostname that you would like to restrict login access to. 
  5. Click Add Hostname.
  6. Under Allowed Countries select the country or countries from where you would like to be able to log in to your account. 
  7. Click Add Country
  8. Click Save.

You can choose to restrict access to either a hostname/IP address or to a country/countries. Or you can enable restrictions using both the hostname/IP address and country settings. 

Old PayFast Dashboard

To add these extra security measures, do the following:

Host name/IP address

  • Log in to you PayFast account.
  • Navigate to the Profile tab and click Edit next to security info.
  • Once on the security page, click the Login Restrictions tab.
  • In the Allow hosts box fill in the IP address or host name that you would like to restrict login to.
  • Once you have filled in your IP address or host name of choice click Update.

Country

  • Log in to your PayFast account.
  • Navigate to the Profile tab and click Edit next to security info.
  • Once on the security page, click the Login Restrictions tab.
  • Next to the Allow countries heading select the countries from where your account will be able to be accessed from.
  • Once you have selected your countries of choice click Update.
