How to Manage PayJustNow Buy Now Pay Later (BNPL) on Your Payfast Account

Overview

PayJustNow Buy Now, Pay Later (BNPL) is a flexible payment method that allows your customers to pay for purchases in interest-free instalments - while you receive the full amount upfront.
Because PayJustNow BNPL is powered by Payflex (a third-party provider), it requires an additional approval process before it becomes available on your Payfast payment page.
This article explains how to:
• Enable PayJustNow BNPL on your account
• Understand the different tile states
• Edit your PayJustNow BNPL tile settings
• Access website add-ons and marketing widgets, and
• Manage your merchant information for listing on PayJustNow’s store directory.

Before You Begin: PayJustNow BNPL Requires Approval
Unlike most payment methods on Payfast, PayJustNow BNPL is not automatically available once your account is verified.
After your account meets Payfast’s eligibility criteria, we’ll submit your business details to PayJustNow for risk assessment and approval. PayJustNow then decides whether your store qualifies to offer BNPL to buyers.
Key points to note:
  1. The PayJustNow approval process can take up to 7 working days.
  2. There is no automatic notification when your status changes - you’ll need to log in and check your tile status manually after a few days.
  3. If your store is approved, PayJustNow  BNPL will become available for activation on your payment page.
  4. If your store is not approved or is ineligible, your tile will display “Not Available.”

Accessing and Managing Your PayJustNow BNPL Tile
To view or manage your PayJustNow BNPL tile:
  1. Log in to your Payfast Dashboard.
  2. Navigate to Settings > Payment Methods.
  3. Find the PayJustNow Buy Now Pay Later tile.
  4. Review its current status (explained below).

Once approved and enabled, you can customise your PayJustNow BNPL tile to better suit your business.
To edit your tile:
1. Click the “Edit” button on your PayJustNow tile.

How Minimum and Maximum Amounts Work
PayJustNow sets default limits for the minimum and maximum order values eligible for BNPL purchases. You can adjust these within the limits PayJustNow allows.

Checking Your Tile Status
If yourPayJustNow tile is still showing “Pending’ or “Not Available” after 7 working days:
  1. Log back into your Payfast Dashboard to recheck your status.
  2. If nothing has changed, please contact our Merchant Support Team at support@payfast.help.
They can confirm your current approval status and guide you on what to do next.
