How to Manage Payflex Buy Now Pay Later (BNPL) on Your Payfast Account

Overview

Payflex Buy Now, Pay Later (BNPL) is a flexible payment method that allows your customers to pay for purchases in interest-free instalments - while you receive the full amount upfront.
Because Payflex BNPL is powered by Payflex (a third-party provider), it requires an additional approval process before it becomes available on your Payfast payment page.
This article explains how to:
Enable Payflex BNPL on your account
Understand the different tile states
Edit your Payflex BNPL tile settings
Access website add-ons and marketing widgets, and
Manage your merchant information for listing on Payflex’s store directory.

Before You Begin: Payflex BNPL Requires Approval
Unlike most payment methods on Payfast, Payflex BNPL is not automatically available once your account is verified.
After your account meets Payfast’s eligibility criteria, we’ll submit your business details to Payflex for risk assessment and approval. Payflex then decides whether your store qualifies to offer BNPL to buyers.
Key points to note:
The Payflex approval process can take up to 7 working days.
There is no automatic notification when your status changes - you’ll need to log in and check your tile status manually after a few days.
If your store is approved, Payflex  BNPL will become available for activation on your payment page.
If your store is not approved or is ineligible, your tile will display “Not Available.”
