How to Enable Payfast as a Payment Method on Shopify

Merchants can easily integrate Payfast with their Shopify store by following the steps below. This guide covers both the installation and activation of the Payfast payment app.

Step 1: Installing the Payfast App

  1. Log in to your Payfast by Network Dashboard.
  2. Navigate to your Payfast Dashboard, then go to Settings > Integrations.
  3. Click on “Click here to integrate with Shopify.”

  1. You’ll be redirected to the Payfast Shopify plugin page. Click “Install”.

  1. You’ll be taken to the Shopify login screen. Log in to your Shopify store.
  2. After logging in, you’ll land on the Payfast app install page. Click “Install” to proceed.

  1. Once installed, you’ll be redirected back to your Payfast dashboard, where you’ll see a confirmation that the app has been successfully installed.

Step 2: Activating the Payfast App

  1. Log in to your Shopify store and navigate to Settings > Payments.

  1. Click “Add payment method”, search for Payfast, and select “Payfast Instant EFT.”

  1. The Payfast payment app will appear. Click “Activate.”

  1. Payfast will now show as active, and you can start accepting payments immediately.
