How to change password on MAP

To change your password in the Merchant Access Portal (MAP):

  1. Log in to MAP.
  2. Click on your username located in the top right corner of the portal.
  3. A dropdown menu will appear; select the "Change Password" option.
  4. You will be directed to the "Change Password" screen, where you will need to:
    • Enter your current password.
    • Enter your new password.
    • Confirm the new password.
  5. Click the "Change Password" button to proceed. If successful, a message will confirm that your password has been changed.
  6. You will then be redirected back to the dashboard.

When you log out and log back in, use your newly created password.

 

Password Management

For optimal security when creating your password, we recommend the following:

  • Avoid using dictionary words or proper nouns.
  • Do not include personal information.
  • Ensure the password is 8-20 characters long.
  • Include both letters and numbers.
  • Use a mix of uppercase and lowercase letters.

Your password is private and should not be shared with anyone. Payfast will never request your Merchant Access Portal password. If you receive any communication asking for your password, please consider it a potential phishing attempt.

Additionally, we recommend changing your password every 90 days to enhance security.
