How to Access and Log Into the Merchant Access Portal (MAP)

The Merchant Access Portal (MAP) is a secure, web-based platform that allows Paygate merchants to manage their Payfast accounts, monitor transactions, access reports, and more,  all in one place.

How to Locate the MAP Login Page

Follow these steps to access the MAP login screen:

Step 1: Visit www.payfast.io
Step 2: In the top navigation menu, click on the “Login” button.

Step 3: On the login landing page, locate the tile that says “Login to your Paygate Merchant Access Portal” and click on the Login button.

Step 4: You’ll be redirected to the MAP login screen, where you can begin your login process.

Logging Into MAP

Step 1: On the login screen, you’ll be required to enter the following credentials:

• Username

• Password

• Company Name
  

These details would have been provided to you in your welcome email from our onboarding team. If you're an existing merchant, you should already have these credentials.

Note: Your merchant access portal account will be locked after 3 failed login attempts. For more information visit the following article. 

Passsword Requirements

Password Guidelines

As part of our PCI DSS compliance requirements, your password must:

✅ Be a minimum of 12 characters long
✅ Contain both uppercase and lowercase letters
✅ Include at least one number
✅ Include at least one special character (e.g., !@#)
❌ Avoid dictionary words, names, or personal info
❌ Not include common passwords (e.g., “Password123”)

Tip: Change your password every 90 days for added security.

Security Reminders

• Never share your MAP credentials .

• Payfast will never request your password via email, phone, or chat.

• If you receive any suspicious messages requesting login details, treat them as phishing attempts and report them to our support team.
